SUPPORT WORKER
ABOUT ME: Hi, I’m Tia. In my free time, you’ll often find me at the beach or exploring new waterfalls, as I really enjoy being outdoors and embracing a sense of adventure. I love experiencing new things and expressing my creativity, especially through reading and movement. I train in aerial acrobatics (similar to what you might see in the circus), which has taught me patience, resilience, and perseverance, as well as how to stay calm and focused in new or challenging situations. I genuinely enjoy connecting with people and creating a safe, comfortable, and uplifting environment where others feel valued and supported.

EXPERIENCE: Over the past three years, I have gained extensive experience working as a coach, supporting individuals across a diverse age range, from young children to adults. Through this role, I have developed a strong ability to adapt my coaching style and communication approach to suit the unique needs, preferences, and goals of each individual. I have worked with participants of varying abilities, including those living with different levels of disability, which has strengthened my capacity to provide personalised, compassionate, and effective support. I am highly attuned to the importance of creating a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment where individuals feel respected, understood, and confident to engage and grow at their own pace.
My experience has also enhanced my skills in building trust and rapport, managing challenging situations with patience and professionalism, and maintaining a consistent, positive presence. I take pride in encouraging independence while offering the appropriate level of guidance and support, ensuring each participant feels both capable and supported. Alongside my practical experience, I am currently studying teaching at university, which is further deepening my understanding of learning styles, behaviour support, communication strategies, and the importance of individualised planning. This academic foundation complements my hands-on experience and allows me to apply evidence-based approaches in my work.
I am known for my respectful, friendly, and approachable nature, as well as my strong sense of reliability and commitment. I consistently strive to build meaningful, positive relationships with participants, families, and colleagues, recognising the importance of collaboration and trust in achieving the best outcomes. I am passionate about making a genuine difference in people’s lives and am dedicated to delivering high-quality care and support that promotes wellbeing, confidence, and personal development.
